faschierte sehr gut

und koennte ich einen kleinen g- gruenen salat dazu haben bitte

nur gruene

kleinen gruenen mit essig und oel oder

ja bitte

passt

e r pizza toscana but i want to ask er is it very big or

i-

yeah yes it 's not very big but we have only

so

big pizza we have no small

okay so just the half of

medium

can i get or a medium or is it possible

one okay one toscana medium okay

okay thanks

are you on diet are you on diet

no it 's real big

for you

okay er margherita

marghe rita

a margherita yeah

okay thank you

thanks

darf ich speisekarte oder brauchen sie noch

nein danke

danke vielmals

no

women in slovakia are always on diet

no it 's very big and i always

the thing is you get really tired when you have big lunch

yeah of course

and then in the afternoon session that 's the thing

ye s ye s

mhm

yea h yes yes yeah right

yeah i saw them they 're quite big i i wh- when we entered they 're quite

i know because these italian pizzas er used to be quite big

are you only coming for this session then from er from slovakia

yeah

hm

and you are in a student here

i 'm er i 'm i 'm working at the english department and i 'm working as a erm as an assistant er on e r on my phd at the english department at the university of vienna yes

ah ye ah i understand

and then you analyze it

where i- where is your building here

where

where is where is building where is your school in here

er it 's

i- in the center of university of vienna in schottentor or in another

yeah do you it know it a little bit er

yeah i know er the center of university of vienna i went there two times i think

i mean there is the main building that 's directly on the schottentor

yeah schottentor

in schottentor

but then you have a hu ge university campus

where

and this is erm that was the former hospital in vienna an old hospital building and it was now adapted and er taken on er basically by the university and it was renovated and it 's er my department is in there

mhm

which is very nice because it 's green and you have

this is where er in which side of vienna

it 's er m in the well on the border between the first and the nin th district

ah yeah first and ninth district

it 's it 's already the ninth district but it 's very close to the main er to the main building hh very close to votivkirche you know the big church next to the main building yeah just behind that

aha yeah yeah votivkirche

votivkirche votivkirche

votivkirche genau

yeah yeah that i know

so are you are you are you studying

i am erasmus student here in fachhochschule do you know fachhochschule

yeah but there are so there are so many

a little

yeah fachhochschule this bfi

aha okay

this bfi in bogersteinstrasse

yeah

er in second district

uhu

yeah

in there

so do you take your courses in german then

a little bit only two months i take german language and it 's

okay

and finished now

and where did you take it

in school only in school

in the at the

i i 'm taking my course in english here not german language i know german

oh okay

a little bit only not so much

but but er but you did the the course did you do at the university as well or did you do it at another institution here in vienna

i er

on german did you do a german course here no

no i do n't do a german course

ah no okay

i had only english course here

okay yeah

same in turkey i think

yeah i find it amazing to when i watched the discussion how how proficient e r people are in english everybody is i mean ho w ho w how we- how easily people start discu ssing on that level it 's amazing

yea h yeah

yeah yeah yeah yes german language is a little bit d- difficult for x x xxx xx you said

hm

yeah i can imagine

yeah with the grammar like er der die das

yeah

there is no way of how to figure out whether it 's der die or das

yeah the worst thing is that we have e r it similar in slovakia but it is different

yah

we have er something like er you have er der and we have there erm die

uhu

so it 's not always easy

do you have two or three also three

three three three but er i think only a half is e rm a- as in slovakia as it is in er german

yeah

in the language so it 's terrible

hm

what erm the thing is also you don- you ca n't tell from the ending of the word like you have for example you know in romance languages you you very often have endings of the words and then you know which er

yeah

yeah

whether it 's er der die or das and this is difficult in german i assume

yeah

i 'm glad that i did n't have to learn

are you also e r a student here phd are you working together

no no n-n

mhm

i 'm i came from bremen now i work in bremen

ah

so erm and i finished my phd last year

hm okay

it 's done

good

she she 's done it

yeah very good

phd

so how are you enjoying your erasmus year

er it is good e r the city is very good i like it but i do n't have any close friend in here and i 'm

hm

a little bit bored because of that

hm

because er in my university i do n't know what 's about yours there is no place to sit and talk to other persons in my university

oh there 's no social

there 's no there 's no so- social environment yeah

hm

everybody 's coming to school university taking courses and after that going to er their home

mhm

there is no social environment no c- but the er city is very good er the transportation and the everywhere is green i like it

hm

it 's very good

how long have you been here then

er two months i came here e r middle of the february

and you are staying until the end of s-

until the end of june i will stay until end of june

aha okay

i will go then

and are you integrated in like the erasmus student network or do you

er eras mus erasmus

do you yeah

program integrated

do you meet people there like other

yeah yeah i i knows m- m- most of the erasmus student here

o kay yeah

in my university but not the others

are there many at your university

er

many erasmus

er there a re er thirty-five or thirty-six student erasmus students in my university

mhm

wow

most of them there are f ive turkish er czech came from czech republic er slovakia also and germany like that

hm

and they do n't do any activities i mean they do n't do they do n't organize things so that you could er get to know other people that

er

little bit but not so much and e r it 's it 's we are coming together at o n- er once for month but only we are going and speaking little bit we 're not going to our home

yeah it 's difficult

it 's difficult yeah

yeah you 'd need to know one person or so or two and get to know others that 's that 's the thing

uhu ye ah yeah yeah

are they laughing at the

no i told them that i ca n't speak in slovak because there is a reason

yeah because we would n't understand

i always feel really ashamed when i cross the border and then i ca n't speak i ca n't speak any slovak because i mean it 's really a shame you know it only takes an hour

or s- or not even and then suddenly you 're in a different world and hh

yea h but you know it 's very different language and

but a beauti ful one

it seems yeah real beautiful but it seems to be very

complicated

complicated but it is because er the grammar is er it 's very different system of grammar and to learn that i do n't know

hh yeah but then i think that you make an effort to learn german i mean very often you can speak german and

yeah

i think there is this you know it 's somehow strange that that we do n't make an effort and that er that there is it 's only always the other you know only one way working not the other way around

hm

yeah there should be an er reaction action and reaction

mutual

yah bratislava is very nice i 've it 's it really just takes quarter er three quarters of an hour or so to get there yeah

yeah

many peo ple started flying e r to er booking their flights now not from vienna any more but from bratislava because er hh it 's

mhm

ah it 's very cheap no yeah

there are cheaper air lines or cheaper things yeah

they 're very cheap mhm

but will it be cheaper e rm er later too do you think because er now the er the airports are they united by one company i think one company bought er bought our airport

ah

ah yah true

yeah yeah

exactly

there 's er and there was something like erm like some fears

true

that er our airport may become

salat essig oel

ja bitte

bitte schoen mahlzeit

er hat eh sonst er nobody else

yeah

ordered a salad

no er

there was a fear that our airport will become only for cargo er and er in vienna

mhm

only for persons

mhm

so er we would lose a lot of money because there are

of course

er services and o- er many other things er so i do n't know whether this will last

yeah i wonder er maybe not because then i mean there there 'd have the same offers

hm

yeah i do n't know er but er the company said there wo n't do such such a thing but i will think so

yeah

because they e rm it 's konkurrence

yeah of course

koncurrecy

of course

hm

a large one cos if we are cheaper than er no t then many many customers of the er vienna airport

of course

will come to slovakia

yeah

for example to london from bratislava to london about three thousand

london

crowns it 's nothing

which i s how many euros

e rm xxx xxxx xx xx you you know euro kurs

x xxx

x xx xx

mhm seventy-five euros

seven-

mhm

seven-

eighty seventy- five

yeah

eighty euro

mm

yeah i- i- it 's nothing you know

no

mhm

or f- to rome er

yeah

the same

also the- er the- they have cheap flights to rome also o h

yeah i think that

yeah and you also have the

yeah that 's interesting

the opportunity to see such a beautiful land slovakia is

yeah

my friend wants to go to bratislava

oh it is surely

yeah he will

before going to turkey

okay i knew why i ordered just the half of the pizza

yeah they are huge

but they are really huge

now that 's a half of a half of a normal one

a h

because i know i can not eat such a big pizza

so i 'll i 'll have to remove my microphone afterwards

yeah very hungry

is e r social life is very similar to er austria er in germany is it very similar to austria social life or everything is it similar or different from here from austria

erm ooph that 's difficult er erm germany is so

what do you think

so big that i think there is so ma- there is dif- there is

yeah and the yeah

er different customs and different

i 'm experiencing the differences between south and north at the moment yeah

yeah you can tell

and i- er is there any difference on language between austrian german and german german

well

probably like czech and slovak er it i- there is like people can understand each other but sometimes you have different phrases

hm

words

yeah

or different words

and pronun ciation

pronuncia tions

pronunciation yeah okay okay i understand

dialects you have many dialects also in austria that

yeah

sometimes are hard to be understood mutually or so you know if you are

hm

if a a p- person from the very western parts of austria speaks to eastern parts or so it 's difficult to understand also

yeah yeah

it 's different yeah yeah yeah

erm

and like bavaria erm the southern part of germany and then tirol and salzburg like the language is very similar and i also think that the culture is quite similar actually

i-

mhm mhm

yeah yeah er erm

mhm

so toscana

definitely

er me but

margherita

mein

er

proscuitto

x

oh my god kann man ein sackerl vielleicht

ja haben wir

na da haben wir 's ich hab es schon da darf ich mir das schnell ausborgen

but i 'm not able to

oh my god

yeah

glad we got lasagne

xxx xx

you ca n't you ca n't eat

we asked them

take half of it with you

yeah we asked them to put them in bags afterwards

i thought that it would be big but this is quite big

they do n't like me here

they like you

no

they do n't like me

you look hun- you look hungry so

xx xx xx xxx xxx

dobre dobre xxx

dobre dobre is that xx or anything

sorry

what does dobre mean

dobre er good

good

it 's good well we er used to use it as er okay

yeah

so okay

no you do n't have to please

no go ahead please

ea- just sta- start eating

and i will end about six o'clock

okay enjoy your meal

but they are very thin at least

yes

the only advantage

yeah but the o-

probably it is an italian cook there yes cos e rm in slovakia the xxx try and

yeah

pizza pizza 's like in xxx

but here too

yeah but there are only so and they are this yeah

very thick

hh but er but you will get things like that here too

yeah

they are more er like a cake then

yeah true american pizzas look like that too huh

yeah

but they 're ex treme ly quick

yeah

they must have a big pizza oven also

mhm

apparently yeah

ich muss mir das nochmal stehlen bitte

natuerlich

ja

der schmeckt irgendwie nach nicht sehr viel hi- we yeah ok- we 're a bit better off the lasagne is a bit

a bit smaller

a bit smaller

and if we 're still hungry i 'm sure

we just grab a couple

hh

pieces

you 're welcome

are you staying erm over the weekend then until

yes mhm i have two friends here too that i 'm visiting yeah

mhm

are you traveling a lot in your job or is it are you on a

not really it 's mainly once the conference here once a conference there but it 's only daily one day

yeah

so not very much really it 's to i have to improve on that i have to network

mhm

and tell people that it 's necessary that you go some where

ex actly i must go

hm

and in slovakia you learn english erm in school already

yeah

i mean can you start

er we er actually in xxx is grammar schools we have the opportunity to learn two or three languages then er in in other schools i think there is only one foreign language which is erm necessary

uhu uhu

that 's that 's not

depending on the focus yeah

it 's not very much okay because if there is only one language you can not focus e rm directly on it because er in these schools if there is only one language they take it oh there 's one language i will er finish it as soon as possible and then i wo n't have to do anything with that language

ah yeah uhu

only formally i mean

uhu uhu

er but in fact the xx groups if you have two language er one language is taken as this for example my german it 's very weak because of this factor i think i have done it erm as soon as possible or i have n't erm made any er mu- any much effort

yeah

in gaining x xxx but in fact i 've learned more english now

and your classes at university are they is the one with [firstname1] erm

mhm

in english is that an exception or

yeah

erm i think not all the subjects are in english mostly or er if not all of them are in slovakia

hm

it is optional to take course in english but it

uhu

it 's it 's not er as common for example xx erm

sorry sorry

bless you

gesundheit

he s- he said erm that that he can that he can teach us in german or in english or in dutch in french as he does

dutch o h

yeah

interesting

yeah but erm not all students know german it started in german and we have erm trans- translator for x them

mm

yeah and erm but it was n ot

but most the time he speak english

yeah

he translates it

oh no

la contessa

hier bitte dankeschoen

bitte schoen aufpassen teller ist sehr heiss mahlzeit

dankeschoen

how do you say in he 's yawning

hm

yeah he 's yawning

yawning yeah

the transla- the the translator

yeah most mo st of the time er he he

yeah he 's sleeping most of time or or

and he he begins a sentence like er the xx philosophy is you know

and erm ah yeah erm the the the philos- the philosophy is something else like a different sentence completely

and and

and you know e r the teacher is not very

but he

far away from the sentence erm the first sentence

but he

but he is paid for that is n't he i mean

which is

yeah

i know but

normally ooph

he is paid for that but i t 's a good business for him because he ca n't er

he can sleep and work

do yeah

er work prop- properly

and actually erm [firstname1] [lastname1] tried to er make english our teaching language erm i think at the second third lesson he asked whether

mhm

most of us understand english er there was n't this sleeping person sleeping translator

and erm we said that he can try and i think erm eighty per cent or so of the students in the classroom

and you 're fine

understood quite

mhm

amazing

er i could change because german i think only some about thirty per cent or forty per cent could understand

mhm

hm

for example i can understa nd if somebody is talking in german but my german is very poor i ca n't speak to xx

hm yes

and especially the the legal stuff like erm erm gericht

only

yeah

yah

und also

das gericht yeah did n't you learn that

yeah

do you choose your erm language after the entrance of the university after or before the entrance of the university the language of course i mean

but which course at university

yeah er which not which course language of course for example er er only german or or english

yeah or or

we have we have a stan-

do you choose one

yeah we have some standard right but we can some courses er are in a foreign language preferently er there is also erm a translator for f irst two years some

ah sounds good yeah

but after these we do n't have we we we can not speak with the teacher er whether we or we want this language or not we want to we can speak the language

you choose after that xx university then you are studying okay i understand

yeah

it is different in turkey

and how does it work with the translator does do you have

it does not work

headphones or yeah but

like what is the idea behind it does he sit next to you

er no he 's he 's er at a at one corner of the room

mhm

and he just listens to what the the teacher says teacher speaks about er half a minute and then er the

he then he

says something

o h

you know we 've got this stuff and he 's in a bo x bo x

yeah

ah

and he 's talking and

he 'll

and sometimes it 's horrible and it

the box is very is famous because there 's erm there 's a mask

at the front so we can see when he 's yawning

we we we see everything you know that 's why it 's funny

most from the beginning erm these lessons when we did n't know that he he 's yawning or something i don- h- he is doing something he just er was translating something and when he stop at in the middle of the sentence someone

looked and said and said look he 's yawning

and had

so he became famous and

yeah he is very famous

and then he has a microphone or a

erm yah yeah he has a micro phone and then we have erm

oh yah

the gadgets small gadgets and we have erm the

oh you really do have erm

yes er the ear- ear-

yeah those things

mm

the phones

earphones

yeah

okay

mm

so the lecturer he does n't hear what the translator says

e r no i think no

not that he would

he probably would n't understand that anyway but he does n't hear him like

yeah

maybe that 's the disadvantage

mhm

because he ca n't hear

sometimes he does n't er even look at him but the er the because er if

teacher says something then he er makes a pause erm stop and when the translator says er is supposed to translate but er when he 's yawning half of the time er the teacher just goes on he does n't stop and

mhm

hm

and make enough time for him to translate it but it happens erm not so common that about thirty per cent

a h not so common

is it always the same translator or is it

fifty

erm

ah sometimes it changed

yeah

do you know that

some thing is ringing i think that 's in this

is that yours

no it 's here n-n

nein das ist meins

ah okay

okay

so we we your your presentation will be at the very end then or some thing

mhm

everybody 's yawning and sleeping

no we are

the best are in the end

becoming already

we are yawning

that 's what i do n't do in the beginning

yeah or when i 'm yawning

erm does n't wan na stay

how many times er how many hours did you did it take from erm slovakia to here

we are in bratislava because we have we have a lesson at erm friday only about a hour er an hour and ten minutes or so

to here o h

yeah

really

only did in fact that erm we were crossing borders so yeah xxx to here to austria i do n't think you could n't fly from here yeah

i when i come here er i bought one hundred sixty euro

yeah

but maybe from here it 's cheaper because er there is no xx xx there is to vienna from turkey but a little plane from vienna to turkey i do n't know why

yeah

it 's probably and er

s- er how how much time did did you

er by plane

yeah

e r

two hours

two hours and fifteen minutes so

o h

i think it 's not so

it 's not so long

what

not very long to istanbul

to istanbul my school is istanbul but i m y family e r lives in denizli do you know denizli xx xxx so you know you do n't know

denizli

mhm

denizli xx

yeah denizli xx

yeah yeah

erm you know

denizli xx i only know it from the from the trush- turkish football league

you are from x

yeah yeah yeah

you see that helps

glauben sie

you 're interested in football

is it a good soccer team

erm i do n't know

no

just know know the name

okay

i 've seen in summer

are are you int- are you interested football very much you

er yah i

xx xx

there is the world cup now

been going on in germany

are you going going germany

erm i i can not perhaps in

but slovakia is good

er no

no

a pity

is turkey playing turkey is n't playing i did n't know hm

we

turkey could n't

they 've lost against the swiss right

switzerland you know

there is a little er xx after the match

mhm

you know

we had the opportunity to go but we had to beat spain so

no

impossible

are you going to the championship

go championship

yeah

xxxxx i do n't think it 's easy to xxx

exactly xxx

but erm do you have erm free german course something like if you made erm the exams like a week later or so or it it 's exactly for the whole country

i do n't think so my friend will do that er er his his graduation ceremony in turkey

mhm

and he will make his exams before the normal state even though turkey

where we already issued something

mhm

because like football we have good football players and er now it 's xx but erm when you look at the history our football is no t as good as er the one in france and so on and so on and so on

i i hope i would never xx x x see in television cos

i i 'm not sure we have a lot of subjects and the x xxxx of our subjects roman law and i have n't noticed er am ersten august war das i

my parents will er were considering if they would go to the asian er part of turkey or some some other

hm

er country like this but er in egypt there have been recently a lot of terroristic er attacks yeah but i have n't noticed any attacks in turkey they they were considering er is is it still xx xx behind xx but

er is true but not so much in the east of turkey there is terrorist attacks most mostly

where

in east of turkey

yeah

at kurdistan

kurdistan yeah

xxxxx but lots of them but erm er terrorist attacks er occur one third is er has er political contact er x x are in groups er and then there that occur and terrorists attack every time i think it 's maybe c- e r com- complicit conspiracy theory but

mhm

i think that er some of military forces are doing that terrorist attacks because of er military is strong by that in political li- er life and do you know s- [place1] [place1] do you know no you do n't know

no

who is he or

er er is er [place1] is a place a small village that had been seventeen bombing attacks in one month er and after the seventeen bombings two persons captured by the public and the two persons w ere soldier

uhu

and after that there er had a lot of things er a lawyer said er claimed about the er general of turkish army one of general of turkish army

yeah

and after that that lawyer er terminated from lawyer and there is that whole things in turkey in these days

mhm

and this happened at the east

yes the [place1] is the east side of turkey

it 's around izmir or

no

is some- somewhere izmir is er west

izmir is is the er west side

yeah

very west side westest side of turkey

cos i just remembered another name of a town

hm

are you finish

er yah yah

yah

they are probably used to er getting loads back

mhm

yeah probably there is a hungry dog waiting somewhere in the backyard

yeah maybe and that 's why there they they s- they do n't start making pizzas that big

there must be a reason for it

xxx x xx

erm i think i 'd need a walk now or a or a bed

your department is law

what

your department is law

department yeah

yeah yours also

in fact our er university was erm was based or was created because of law

mhm

because the only department was law er that was last year this year we are a ll we have er law economy

economy

hm

actually is a modern university it it 's a new one

new one

two years yeah

a h

two years and already we xx there

is it private

yeah

private

er it 's a private school

do you pay money

yeah

a little or not

sorry

how much

how mu- it 's

er in slovakia

do you pay only in slovakian currency or er only

yeah er

dollar

no no no in slovakian in in slovak crowns but for some people it 's lot but i think that for education is the one thing er where money is i- there is no reason to to pay

is that any other state state universities

sorry

is there state uni-

yeah yeah of course

yeah there are

there is er another

you pay for state universities also

sorry

you pay for state universities

no no

also no hm

er this is er i choose this university because e rm i mean i wanted to go er on state university i was taken o n erm external er part of studies because er we 've got it divided into internal and external internal that means tha t you are attending school every day er and external that mean that er you go to school just er once in the month

but for the whole day or for the whole the whole week end

yes but for example for a whole weekend yeah hh and i decided to go to this e rm private and i 'm on individual courses so

and you you are too all of you are

yeah yeah all of us

xx time

hh er the

and then what do you do the rest of your time of the week is that

er i 've got school from monday till friday and that 's everything but e r and but every week a nd er the external part that means that students attend school just once in whole month i mean once for month

oh at at your univer sity you can

yep

choose okay okay

er yeah yeah

a nd that 's why

that is

er is there scholarship in side the private universities in there

you mean er

s cholarships do you know scholarships

er

do n't pay er money to private universities someone

i -

because of high points

mhm

in turkey there is x xx xx

okay i do n't know it

xxxx xx xxxx xx xxxx

i do n't know i just

in turkey in turkey private universities er has

schmeckt 's

ja war gut danke

two

danke vielmals

two er other banks one of them is er normal

dankeschoen

er everybody has to pay e r for it but that 's e r points are really low and so er you have to pay money but there is scholarship side of in the same university same department if your points enters

finish ed

are you finished

yeah please

yah

the entrance points is very high because you er you m- maybe i 'm scholarship i do n't pay any money to university

yeah

but university pays money to us

hh okay i know we 've got these programs but er our university is open just for

mhm

xx xx

hey hh just for er two years so e r it just

hm

if somebody got a scholarship it 's like er for first year and you get money just in second

hm

so e r

you get money from the university

yeah money er

it de pends on the marks

university

for your living ex- for your living expenses or

yes yes

yes

it depends on the point

on the points on the marks

depends on the grade yeah

you know

o h okay

er we 've got it too but er it 's like you have to we 've got two semester and er

two terms

e r two terms yeah hh and it 's li ke it 's counted er both semesters and er there is a except xx xxx

on average

er yeah it goes on average for two s - two terms and then er they decide if you get scholarship or not

a h okay

is that e r university entrance exam in slovakia is there a university entrance exam in slovakia

er yes in slovakia er in in

after high school

and in engl - english

yeah

too

after high school

yeah

after hi- ye ah

ah okay okay so

cos we end the high school er with a maturity exam then we have to write another and sometimes it is much more difficult

mhm

you er enter the exam and after that you ch- choose your university and department and after that you are in the

er not exactly er you choose first the department and then you are there xx

because because the exams are erm from these department you have to know some knowledge about some general know ledge

and then you

yeah they have different requirements for you like for example our

and each department does its o wn

yeah

tests

yeah yeah

mhm

er yeah you take one exam only you take one exam if you pass e r from that you can go to university

    How the DATA-Representation works

The visualized data are saved and archived on ARCHE in XML or RDF formats. This data can be represented differently. In this HTML-Representation the data is transformed into a HTML structure. This process is achieved with XSLT-Stylesheets and XPath.

    Beta Version

The Beta Badge is active because the XSLT-Stylesheets are still in development. Therefore, the Web-Application can change and data could be visualized differently. Furthermore, additonal data or functions could be added.
